This coming Sunday, most of us will be gathered around the television to watch the most watched television event of the year, Super Bowl XLVII (47). Whether you watch it for the game, commercials, or just for the snacks (a combination of the three works too), a number of fans will be watching their favorite social media accounts too.
According to Sysomos, during last year’s Super Bowl there were around 14 million tweets about the Super Bowl and only 3 million tweets during the Super Bowl in 2011. I am excited to find out that number for this year’s Super Bowl after I wrote about the rise of multi-screen content consumption yesterday. Will we see that big of an increase from last year to this year? I think there will easily be over 20 million tweets, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that were low.
So, if you got a new tablet or smartphone for Christmas and want some Twitter Hashtags to follow during Super Bowl XLVII, here are a few popular ones:
- #SB47 (the official Super Bowl hashtag)
On Super Bowl Sunday, make sure your phone and tablets are charged up and get involved with the Super Bowl conversations happening on social media! It should be a lot of fun!
